It was a dark and stormy night!
Actually, it was a hot and humid Friday, and since I was involved in an In the Mix hair-priment, I figured the day was as good as any to try my hand at two strand twists for the second time.
As with anything, the more you practice, the easier it gets, and this twisting session was no exception. Still utilizing the same toolery as before:
I part my moist strands into four sections, leaving one free for twisting purposes.
Just as before, I part the free section into smaller sub sections, as in braiding, then portion that off into a still smaller subsection, and secure the rest of the hair into a clip.
This all seems pretty ‘deja vu”, eh? Well, unlike last time, I decided to follow the technique outlined in this video, instead of simple separating and twisting two subsection together, I twisted two subsections individually and then twisted the subsections together.

This process helps to ensure each twist is “tight” right up to its base, and doesn’t untwist leaving that silly looking “poof” thing at the scalp. What also helps is securing the twist with a clip close to the base as it initially dries, or stretching the twist “taunt” and then clipping it.
I continued this process over the span of my funny shaped head, and here be the results… taken the next day thanks to the storm black out that only affected her “street” *rolls eyes*

They are a little more springier than my first attempt, but unfortunately I’m still having the issue with some of them untwisting at the base:
So a retwising was needed after I unwrapped them on Saturday.
I can say that I feel this twisting session was more productive than the first, as I am able to actually “control” the direction of the twist now, which works to hide the initial section parts a little better, giving a fuller twist look.
I’m still getting used to the style so I’m as pleased as one can be during the initial stages, but I had mucho fun with this second attempt.
And that’s it and that’s all, Journeyers! I will post re-twist pics a lil later, once I move the cam to a better lit room, which produces better quality image, on this low quality cam… THAT I’M GRATEFUL TO HAVE (that was meant for the Penzi man guy *giggle*).
I’m interested in hearing of your twist attempts too! Drop them here or send an Email to goddessidadi@gmail.com.
Blessed Be…
