Hi Hi Every People!
I’m starting a new “segment” for Fridays, which I will call “In the Mix”. In this segment I will post a couple homemade hair care treatment recipes, and a couple of homemade facial treatment recipes, put them to the test on my own hair and face, then post the results of their use. You can play along too if you’d like, by trying the recipe yourself and posting your results in the comments section. These recipes are not limited to natural hair usage, so if you’re sporting relaxed tresses, you’re more than welcome to join in.
So are you ready? Let’s “git ‘er done”! *lol*
Since I was way too tired last night to do anything with my hair last night, I am going to subject myself to a scalp scrub, an oil treatment, and a conditioning mask followed up with a clarifier. Here are the recipes:
Scalp Scrub:
1 tsp. brown sugar (the coarser the better)
3 tsp. hair conditioner (whichever kind you regularly use)
Combine ingredients and apply to damp scalp. Work in circular motions. Rinse well.
PURPOSE: Relieves scalp of dead skin build up. Can be used before or after washing.
***
Egg & Olive Oil Treatment
2 eggs
4 tbls. olive oil
Combine ingredients and smooth into hair. Wrap hair in plastic wrap (or use plastic shower cap) and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse and shampoo hair (using your regular shampoo).
PURPOSE: Olive oil smooths the hair shaft, the eggs provide proteins and vitamins.
***
Honey & Olive Oil Conditioner
3 tsp. honey
1/4 c. olive oil
Heat honey in microwave and add olive oil. Work small amounts at a time until hair is well covered. Cover with a shower cap and leave on for 30 minutes.
PURPOSE: Works as a moisturizing mask for hair.
***
Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifier
1/2 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1 c. water
Combine ingredients and pour onto hair after shampooing. Rinse.
PURPOSE: Rids the hair and scalp of and “gunk” left behind by shampoo or other products. The clarifier can be rinsed completely from hair, or rinsed once, allowing a small amount of the mixture to remain in hair. The vinegar acts as a natural detangler, and restores the natural pH, preventing itchy scalp.
NOTE: While wet, hair will smell like vinegar. This will stop once hair dries.

In addition to my hair indulgences I will the following recipes for my facial:
Exfoilator
2 tsp. oatmeal (ground into semi-fine powder)
1 tsp. baking soda
Combine ingredients, and add enough water to make a paste. Apply to skin and rub gently. Rinse and gently pat dry.
***
Oatmeal & Honey Mask
1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
2 tbls. honey
1 egg yolk
Combine all ingredients and apply over entire face in circular motion. Leave on for 10 minutes.
***
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner
1/4 c. apple cider vinegar
1/4 c. boiled water
Apply to face liberally, dry, and moisturizer as normal.
###
And there you have it!
I will return in a couple of hours to post my results.
Blessed Be…
